Continuous fiber reinforced structures
We process the process information available through the CAE chain in the structural simulation. For this purpose, we develop material models that capture the nonlinear deformation behavior and the damage evolution in a failure mode-specific manner as a function of the local fiber structure.

Discontinous fiber reinforced structures
Unlike most metals, the material behavior of discontinuous fiber composites is anisotropic and locally variable. We consider the distribution of fiber volume content and fiber orientation as a result of process simulations in our structural component simulations.

Hybrid structures
We do research on the structural mechanics of strongly heterogenous structures and components. Our focus lies on the modeling of the quasi-static and dynamic behavior of fiber metal laminates.
